Multi-play

Multi-play

For situations where a dedicated single sport facility is not warranted, a design that allows more than one sport to be played can be very successful, provided the performance requirements for each sport are not too diverse. It is recommended that one sport be identified as the :”priority sport”, with ant other sports to be played evaluated against the criteria of the priority sport. Some combinations work well, others will be impractical.

The two main considerations will be the playing surface type and the enclosure fence type. Advice can be provided about the best surface to select for any given sport combination, taking into account the standard of play intended for each sport.

Other factors to consider are safe and secure storage of equipment not currently in use on the playing area, multiple line markings in contrasting colours to avoid confusion and appropriate lighting if the area is to be floodlit.
