Edel Artificial Grass

We are the official installers in the south east of Edel’s wide range of artificial grass surfaces designed and developed for sports play. EDEL Grass is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of sports grass, producing over two million square metres of artificial grass annually in their factory complex at Genemuiden, Holland for hockey, football, golf and tennis applications. whilst polypropylene (PP) yarn is the most widely used, polyolefin yarn with a low slide resistance (LSR) is more durable and best for player comfort.

Edel Elite- a range of sand filled or sand obscured surfaces, which includes the following types:

  • 10 mm Soft the top of the range carpet for tennis use, with a high density (85,000 stitches per square metre) micro curled non-directional pile, that obscures the sand infill and minimises movement of the sand within the construction, reducing maintenance. Lines for tennis are woven into the length of the roll to minimise joints and provide a top quality court surface. Available in PP or LSR yarn.
  • 10 mm PP is also available for tennis use with a similar high density pile, but with straight fibres. It has a slightly slower surface pace than Soft, which some players prefer and is more suited to coaching.
  • 15 mm PP with a slightly lower density pile (but still a lot denser than many alternative products) is used for tennis where cost may be a greater factor. It is also ideal for some multi-play uses.
  • 20 mm or 24 mm carpets are most commonly used for multi-play applications preferably with the LSR yarn, but also available in PP. Often installed over a shockpad for sports requiring a surface with greater resilience.

EDEL Classic- a range of non-sand filled water based surfaces for hockey and multi-play.

EDEL Nature- a 52 mm pile length LSR carpet for dedicated football and rugby pitches and training areas is partially infilled with a 16 mm sand layer and 16 mm of rubber crumb.

Sand-dressed and sand-filled artificial grass courts are laid on an engineered base comprising crushed stone sub-base and laser leveled porous macadam. Conversion from an existing macadam court is usually possible provided the base is sound and levels are adequate.
